Piano

Studied piano at Lawrence University under Professor Catherine Kautsky, performing at music festivals and events abroad in Italy, Thailand, and Japan. Studio recitals were cross-disciplinary — one paired music with poetry and prose, with performers reciting texts from memory before playing works spanning Liszt, Debussy, Brahms, and beyond.

Community outreach was a core part of the studio's mission. In 2016, a group of 12 piano students and two recent graduates, including myself, performed three concerts for inmates at the Oshkosh Correctional Institution. The performances sparked deep connection — inmates were moved to tears, question-and-answer sessions ran out of time from raised hands, and both performers and listeners found common ground through music.
